Therapeutic and Coaching Records

If you become a client, I will keep brief confidential notes relating to our sessions. These are held securely and separately from any website data. All therapeutic records are handled in accordance with BACP ethical guidelines and UK GDPR requirements.

Your session records are kept for a minimum of 7 years following the end of our work together, in line with professional guidelines. Records relating to minors are kept until the individual reaches the age of 25, or for 7 years following the end of our work, whichever is longer.

Confidentiality and Its Limits

Everything you share within our therapeutic or coaching relationship is held in strict confidence. There are however legal and ethical circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken, including:

Where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others
Where disclosure is required by law
Where child protection concerns arise

These limits to confidentiality will always be discussed with you at the start of our work together.

How I Store Your Data

Your data is stored securely. Any electronic records are protected by password and encryption. Paper records, if used, are kept in a locked, secure location. I take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

How Long I Keep Your Data

Enquiry data (contact form submissions that do not result in a client relationship) is deleted within 6 months
Client records are retained for a minimum of 7 years following the end of our work together, in line with professional guidelines

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Access the personal data I hold about you
Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal and professional retention obligations)
Object to or restrict the processing of your data
